With Donald and Kathy Ann as founders, and with Donald as President & CEO and Kathy Ann as Executive Vice President, AHF has offered the bleeding disorders community a completely reliable homecare alternative. AHF continues to bring these very same quality services to the bleeding disorders community today. Donald and Kathy Ann understood the importance of community strength and community advocacy. They understood the importance of giving back to the community. Their commitment to charitable giving included support for local chapters, support for hemophilia camps across the country, funding for national and local/lay organizations, academic scholarship awards for higher education, and contributions to medical research for a cure.Donald and Kathy Ann’s final efforts included the development of the Colburn-Keenan Foundation, as a means to perpetuate their hopes for and service to the bleeding disorders community. The Foundation represents their life-long commitment to supporting the emergency, medical, and educational needs of those with bleeding and other chronic disorders. In addition, the Foundation supports the work of community, regional, and national organizations involved in projects and programs that benefit the bleeding disorders and chronic illness communities. The Colburn-Keenan Foundation represents their dream and a living legacy to their outstanding lives of philanthropy. The majority of their personal estates have gone into a trust to found the Foundation. It was their hope that others would share their vision, as well, and contribute to the ongoing work of the Foundation. |
